A useful AI workflow can begin with something ordinary: a page of notes and a clearer idea of what to do next.
You do not need to redesign your whole day to get value from an AI assistant. Start with one small task that already has a clear result, then make the process easy to review.
01. Start with a small task.
Choose one input and one result. A page of notes becomes a checklist. A long message becomes a short set of next steps. Keeping the task narrow makes it easier to see what helped and what still needs attention.
You should be able to explain the result you want in a single sentence.
02. Make the process repeatable.
Give the assistant a clear instruction. Describe the format you want and explain how it should handle anything that is missing. A useful instruction might look like this:
Turn these notes into a short action list. Use only the information provided. If an owner or deadline is missing, mark it as “not specified.”
The wording is intentionally simple. It says what to do, what source to use, and what to do when the source does not contain enough information.
03. Review before you rely on it.
Compare the checklist with your original notes. Correct missing details and remove anything that was added without support. The review is part of the workflow, especially when the result will guide a decision or be shared with someone else.
When the result is useful, save the instruction somewhere you can find it. The next time you do the same task, you can improve the wording instead of starting from zero.
